SQE2

SQE2 skills practice with feedback you can act on

SQE2 assesses practical legal skills, written and oral. Practise realistic tasks, see your answer marked against a rubric, and use the feedback to improve the next attempt.

SQE2 skills

Every SQE2 skill, practised separately

Each skill has its own tasks and its own rubric, so feedback is specific to what that skill rewards.
  • Client interview and attendance note

Practise a client interview, then write the attendance note and legal analysis that follows it.
  • Advocacy

Prepare and practise advocacy tasks with a structured rubric for your submissions.
  • Legal research

Research tasks with source material, assessed on accuracy and how you apply the law.
  • Case and matter analysis, writing and drafting

Written tasks across the SQE2 practice areas, with model answers released after you submit.

Assessment structure we simulate for SQE2 January 2027

  • Case and matter analysis: 3 × 60 minutes
  • Legal research: 3 × 60 minutes
  • Legal writing: 3 × 30 minutes
  • Legal drafting: 3 × 45 minutes
  • Client interview: 2 × 25 minutes
  • Advocacy: 2 × 45 minutes (+ 45 min preparation)

This is a practice structure. Confirm the current rules in the official SQE2 specification.

Feedback

Two kinds of marking, clearly labelled

  • AI feedback

    Included with a monthly allowance

Rubric-based feedback with reasons for each criterion, available straight away. It is educational guidance, not an official mark.
    • Allowance shown before you buy
    • Compare attempts over time
    • Works from the same rubric a human marker uses
  • Instructor marking

    Optional, bought separately

Selected written submissions can be marked by an instructor, where this is available, for feedback from a person.
    • Sold in packs of marked submissions
    • Turnaround shown when you request it
    • Your work is shared only with the marker
See marking packs about Instructor marking

AI feedback — educational only. AI-generated feedback is educational guidance only. It is not legal advice, may contain mistakes, is not an official SQE mark and is not a prediction of your exam result. You can ask for human review where offered.

How it works

Attempt, learn, resubmit

  1. Step 1: Choose a skill and task

Pick the skill you want to practise and read the task as you would in the exam.

  2. Step 2: Submit your answer

Write or record your answer under the task conditions, then submit it for marking.

  3. Step 3: Review and resubmit

Read the criterion-by-criterion feedback and model answer, then try again and compare.

SQE2 questions

Common questions

Does AI feedback tell me whether I would pass?
No. It shows how your answer compares with the rubric for study purposes. It is not an official mark or a prediction of your result.
Do I need SQE1 materials too?
Only if you are sitting SQE1. They are separate; see SQE1 preparation.
Is my work private?
Your submissions are visible to you. Instructors see only work you submit to them for marking and, otherwise, aggregated information.
