Refund and cancellation policy#
This policy explains how to cancel and when you can get a refund. It sits alongside our terms of service and does not affect your statutory rights.
UK SQE Course is an independent SQE preparation provider. We are not affiliated with, endorsed or accredited by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) or Kaplan SQE. We do not register candidates for the SQE and cannot guarantee exam results.
1. Your 14-day statutory cancellation right#
If you buy from us online as a consumer, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 normally give you 14 days from the day after purchase to cancel without giving a reason.
- Digital content and services you start straight away. At checkout you can ask us to start your access immediately. If you do, you acknowledge that if you cancel within the 14 days you will pay a proportionate amount for what you have used up to the point you tell us you are cancelling, and, for digital content, you may lose the right to cancel once you have started to use it fully. We will make this clear before you pay and we will not rely on it unless you have agreed to it.
- Live courses and events. You can cancel within 14 days of purchase and receive a full refund if the course or event starts more than 14 days after you cancel. If it starts sooner, the cancellation right depends on what was agreed at checkout and what you have attended.
2. Our refund guarantee#
Within the first 14 days of a first purchase of a subscription, if you have used little of the service, you may ask for a full refund on request. We assess requests fairly on a case by case basis, looking at how much you have used the service.
3. Cancelling a subscription#
You can cancel a subscription at any time under Account, Subscription. Your access continues until the end of the period you have paid for and you will not be charged again. Cancelling does not by itself entitle you to a refund of the current period, except as set out in this policy.
4. Other situations where we refund#
- Duplicate or mistaken payment: refunded in full.
- Service failure: if the service is materially unavailable or does not match its description for a significant time, we will fix it, extend your access, or refund pro-rata.
- Cancelled or substantially changed live sessions: we will offer a replacement session, credit or refund of the affected portion.
- Content withdrawn: if content you paid for is withdrawn and not replaced with something of equivalent value, you may ask for a pro-rata refund.
- Exam sitting changes: if the SRA moves or cancels a sitting you bought a time-limited product for, contact us and we will extend your access where reasonable.
5. What is not refundable#
We do not refund because of an exam result, change of mind after the cancellation period, or unused AI marking or human marking credits that have been consumed. Human marking credits not yet used may be refunded within the cancellation period. Gift codes already redeemed are not refundable except as the law requires.
6. How to ask#
Use Account, Refunds to submit a request, or email support@uksqecourse.com with your order reference. Tell us briefly why you are asking. We aim to respond within 2 working days and decide within 5 working days. Staff decisions on refunds are recorded with a reason. If we approve a refund, it goes back to your original payment method within 14 days of our decision, and card issuers may take a few more days to show it.
7. If you disagree#
If you disagree with our decision, reply to the decision message and a different member of the team will review it. You may also use alternative dispute resolution or your statutory rights, for example through Citizens Advice.
