Taking a mock exam and reading your results
What to expect during a mock, how pausing and timeouts work and how to use the results.

Before you begin
Choose a mock for your sitting and read the rules screen. Find a quiet place and allow the full session time plus any break.
During the mock
- Each section has its own timer. When it ends, the section is submitted automatically.
- You can flag questions and change answers within a section if the format allows it. Once a section is submitted, its answers are final.
- Between sections there may be a timed break. The break is shown on screen.
If something goes wrong
Your answers are saved as you go. If you lose your connection, log back in and resume. The timer is based on the server clock, so time keeps running. If a mock is not finished, it is shown as incomplete and does not produce a full practice score.
Your results
After a completed mock you see a breakdown by paper, subject and topic, timing by section and the questions you got wrong or left blank. Small groups of questions give a weak signal, and the page labels them as small samples.
Using the results
Use the breakdown to pick topics for the next fortnight rather than judging yourself on the headline percentage. You can compare two mocks side by side from Mocks → Compare.
All scores and feedback are practice results and educational guidance. They are not official SQE marks and they do not predict whether you would pass the real assessment.
