SQE2 format: written and oral skills
The SQE2 skills and how our practice tasks map to them.
1 min read · Last updated 10 Oct 2026
SQE2 assesses practical legal skills through written and oral stations:
- Written: case and matter analysis, legal research, legal writing and legal drafting.
- Oral: client interview (with attendance note or legal analysis) and advocacy.
Our SQE2 practice tasks are organised by skill and practice area, with rubric-based feedback. Your submissions and feedback are private to you. Instructors only ever see aggregated information unless you ask for human marking.
Practice feedback is educational. It is not an official SQE mark and not a prediction of your result.
