Why is some content locked?
How access works across free samples, subscriptions, course passes and one-off packs.

Every piece of content has an access level. When something is locked, we tell you why and what would unlock it, so you are never left guessing.
Access levels
- Free and sample content is open to everyone who registers. Visitors can try up to 10 sample questions before registering, and free members up to 25.
- Subscription content (the question bank, mocks, library, SQE2 tasks and so on) needs an active plan that includes that feature.
- Course content such as recordings and slides needs a course pass or a ticket for the session.
- One-off packs unlock specific features, such as extra mock exams or marking credits.
If you think you should have access
- Open My purchases and check that the order shows as complete.
- Open Subscription and check the status and period dates.
- Refresh the page. Access normally appears within a minute of payment.
- If it still does not, contact support with your order reference.
Upgrading
The lock message links to the Upgrade page, which compares what each option includes. Nothing there promises a particular exam outcome.
